Brigadier General Timothy R. Coffin assumed command of White Sands Missile Range on 02 July 2014.
His education includes: Distinguished Military Graduate from Wheaton College, Distinguished Graduate of the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Honor Graduate of the Quartermaster Officer Advanced Course, Command and General Staff College, School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), the Army War College Advanced Strategic Arts Program (ASAP), Armed Forces Staff College, the MIT Seminar XXI program and the Harvard Senior Executive Fellowship.
His assignments include Army Special Operations Forces Europe, S-3 for the Armor Support Battalion; Commander, 62nd Supply and Services Company; the Army Secretariat, Intern on the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS); 4th Infantry Division Planner at Fort Carson, Colorado; Executive Officer for the 64th Forward Support Battalion; Intelligence Watch Commander at the Cheyenne Mountain North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Space Command; Action Officer, COCOM Commander’s Staff Action Group, Army Space Command G-4; Commander, 1st Space Battalion; Space and Aviation System Integrator, Objective Force Task Force; Chief of the Space and Missile Defense Division on the Army Staff; Director for Combat Developments Future Warfare Center USASMDC/ARSTRAT; Commander of the Army’s 1st Space Brigade; J-3 and J-7, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, US Strategic Command; Commander, Forward Integration Team, US Strategic Command (Forward), Kabul, Afghanistan; Deputy Commanding General, Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Strategic Command; Deputy Commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Space.
